2013 Finish-A-Long
I am back from Christmas craziness and a week with family in Utah. I just barely unpacked our bags and I am still finding pieces of wrapping paper all over the house, but I did get my machine out and finally did some sewing after a 2 week break.
1. I thought I would join in with the finish-a-long; I don't tend to abandon projects, but I am hoping that this will help me finish up my + and x quilt. I found the blocks when I was cleaning out my closet a few weeks ago and have been excited to get back to work on them. I started out mostly using a couple of collections from Momo, It's a Hoot and Just Wing it, and now I have some of the Oh Deer collection so I can include those too.
2. While I was out of town, the Scrappy Trip Along really took off on Instagram. I wasn't sure that I wanted to participate since I have been planning to make a Maple Leaf Rag quilt this year, but I am pretty sure I have enough scraps for both :)

3. I got the last two blocks from our November quilt for the Wish circle of DGS on Saturday and put the blocks together last night. This one is number one on my priority list so hopefully I can make some progress on this one this week. We used this tutorial and I asked for boy-ish colors. I am really thrilled with how it is turning out, the ladies of the Wish Circle really outdid themselves!
such fun projects, Erica. I especially love the layout for your scrappy trip along.
ReplyDeleteVery cool projects Erica. I too like your scrappy trip layout.
ReplyDeleteOh, I may have to start a Scrappy Trip Along if people don't stop posting such yummy pictures!
ReplyDeleteI adore your Simply Woven quilt. It should be easy to find the motivation to finish such awesome projects! Some of mine are quite awful!
Hi Erica....such pretty quilts you have started. Love all the bright, cheery colors. The Trip Around the world is one of my favorite patterns. In fact I have one on my FAL list, too. This is my first FAL and I'm excited to get some Oldie UFO's finished and be inspired by other participants, like you. Looking forward to seeing your posts for FAL. Nice to meet you...Sue
