paper piecing take two

Thank you so much to everyone who commented with paper piecing suggestions.  I tweaked the pattern a little bit to spread the seams out to reduce the bulk.

Apparently my head is still not quite working.  Last time I made all 4 quadrants the same but didn't take into account that they aren't symmetrical.  This time I thought I had solved the problem by using two blocks but nope, I need to do 4.  Oops.  Well, at least I solved the problem with the bulky seam, flipping the blocks is easy enough.
Just pretend it looks more like this.

Here is my entry into the contest.
If you haven't checked out the Threadbias Wallflowers contest, you can enter and view all of the entries here.

And just a reminder that Google Reader is on its final days.  I have personally been using Bloglovin and have been pretty happy with it (although to be honest I really dislike the name).  But here are some ways that you can continue to follow my blog.

  3. I like your quilt design, too. During the last design contest, I wondered if people were actually working out how they would make the quilt they designed, or if they were just trying to win the fabric? But I'm enjoying seeing you work through trying to actually make the design!

  4. Glad you managed to get over some of your bulky seams issue, and these things are always more complicated than they seem to be :o)

  5. Great block. I haven't had time for the contest. I keep going to the site and looking at it and drawing a blank.

  6. It seems with paper piecing that there's always a little trick to take account of! IN my last attempt I printed out the pattern and forgot to untick scale to fit page on half of the pattern pieces and didn't realise until I'd made them all and they're different sizes! Duh! I can't tell yours aren't symmetrical- looks great to me!
