treat yo self

Have you ever seen a fabric print that you thought you couldn't live without?  There are plenty of prints and collections that I really, really want, but a couple weeks ago I was scrolling through blogs on my phone and saw this post.  I had to have that teal print.

I have never used double gauze, but I remembered this post and this post and decided that I needed some yardage for a quilt back.
I had a difficult time tracking the print down, but I finally found it on Fabricworm (they are sold out, but it is available here).  The fabric arrived last week and did not disappoint.  It is so soft and bright and I am in love with it. This photo does not do it justice at all.

Now I just need to decide what to do with it!  Have you ever had a print that you couldn't live without!

  1. That is a great print. I have been obsessed with bicycle prints lately. I don't have a specific project for them, but I feel like I have to buy them every one I see!

  2. Oh, I'd Staple Dress that double gauze, in half a second. It's gorgeous. BUT I don't feel like I HAVE to have that one! It's wonderful how personal and specific those moments are. I'm having dreams at night about some Liberty Lawn I saw and resisted buying on Sunday, and I'm hoping to treat MAH self soon. :)

I hope you will post about how using the double gauze as a quilt back works out. I bet it will be super soft and lovely, but hope it doesn't give you fits.

  7. I can totally understand why you HAD to have that one. I bought some double gauze for my last quilt and loved the feel of it, I know it would be gorgeous as a tee/top. I'm drooling over some Nani Iro nuance in Muji Viol right now the colour is very special.

  12. I've used this fabric before for an entire customer quilt and it was a dream. So soft and easy to work with. I've seen film in the fridge use it for shirts and it's on my sewing bucket list.
    The fabric is dreamy.

  13. Gorgeous, i was the same way with a Nani Iro double gauze that i picked up last year... so delicious and how i wish i could find more of it! I had planed on using it for a binding on one of my quilts but didn't have it in me to cut into little strips... so i made a figure 8 scarf, that i never wear! I should have just used it for the binding, at least i'd enjoy it :)

  14. Oh Erica I loved reading everything in this post. Treat. Yo. Sel? I mean commmmmon! Love me some P&R and anyway that reference can tie in haha. I saw the same post on true up and am desperate for one of those Nani Iro prints - the other teal one (but I have yet to track it down yet). I made a shirt with her double glaze and am in love with it.

  15. Yay, Parks and Rec! I want to try Nano for quilt back too. Do you think it will wear well or is it as delicate as voile?
