30 Quilts for 30 Years Bloghop and Giveaway
A few months ago I was asked to help celebrate Kona's 30th birthday by making a quilt. The people over at Robert Kaufman are really great and also brilliant because this celebration resulted in some unique and amazing quilts. You can follow along with the bloghop from November 1st to December 3rd to find out more about each one.
When I was sketching out designs for a quilt, I decided that I wanted to focus on the variety of Kona shades that are available. I also wanted to make a quilt that was not too difficult because I knew that it was going to be available as a free pattern and I wanted it to be accessible to quilters of all skill levels.
To be entered a giveaway, just leave a comment on this post. The giveaway is open to international readers. The giveaway is open until Tuesday November 18th at 10am PST.
And don't forget to check out the 29 other quilts in the blog hop. My favorite might be Valori Wells' Colored Happy Quilt:

Paintdrip Quilt
56" x 69"
Free Pattern Available Here
So I came up with my Paintdrip Quilt. It uses pretty much all of my favorite Kona colors together and is beginner friendly. The quilt pattern, as well as a list of all of the Kona colors used to make the quilt, is available on the Robert Kaufman website.

Giveaway
Robert Kaufman has kindly offered to giveaway a charm pack of all the new Kona colors. If you haven't seen them in person, they are amazing. I never thought I would like a pink solid as much as I like Pomegranate, but I think Sangria might be just a little bit better.

ReplyDeleteVery nice and clean quilt design.
ReplyDeleteI checked out the Kona colors online as my LQS only carries a few and found so many colors that I like. Can you tell which color I'm partial to? I'm thinking about spending time in the WATER. The OCEAN by the RIVIERA, or MEDITERRANEAN would be nice or even seeing some CARRIBEAN or BANAMA BLUE. Looking outside on this dreary day, I'd even settle for spending time in a POOL or even beside a POND in MALIBU. kthurn@bektel.com
