I have been doing a little sewing lately, but I would like to be doing a lot of sewing. There are so many fabrics, notions, books, etc. so I am thinking about adding a weekly (monthly, bi-weekly?) feature of things that I would love to add to my own personal stash. This will include products from my sponsors, but also products out there that I would just really love to have. To be honest, I think this idea kind of evolved from conversations I have had with my husband about what we would do if we won the Powerball. Clearly I would buy a lot of fabric ;) The #1 print I would love to add to my stash right now is . . . Buck Forest Twilight by Bonnie Christine for Art Gallery Fabrics. I loved this print in the original colorways and now it is available in navy. NAVY. Love it. Speaking of amazing blue fabrics . . . Grid Diamond Navy from Carkai by Carolyn Friedlander. Can you tell I am really loving blues? This is my favorite print from Carka...
I am back with another list of things that I would love to have if I had infinite time, space, and money. There are a few things from my awesome sponsors and a few things I have just seen around. What is on your wish list these days? 1. A sewing machine for my daughter. She is turning 8 next month and is interested in learning to sew, but I don't really want her learning on my machine. Do you have any recommendations? I am thinking about this Janome Hello Kitty machine . 2. A Nikon d500 . For the past few years I have been using my beloved Nikon d7000. It has served me well, but the d500 will take better photos in low light, it has a tilting touchscreen, and can automatically transfer photos to your phone. 3. Some yardage of this Vintage Picnic Extra Wide print in Navy . This would work with so many color combos, it is so cute, and it is 108" wide so you wouldn't have to piece together your backing fabric. ...
If you haven't already checked it out, Alyce over at Blossom Heart Quilts is hosting a blogger bundle competition with Randi at Fresh Squeezed Fabrics . I think these kinds of competitions are SO MUCH FUN. As much as I enjoy all aspects (or at least most aspects) of making a quilt, picking out fabrics is definitely the best part. I wanted to make a mosaic using some of my favorite prints right now. I knew that I wanted to use the Cosmo Cricket text print ; I love that it has all of these positive words and phrases and it is such a pretty shade of pink. I also wanted to use an Oh Deer print (because it is so cute!), this Madrona Road print (which I love but I haven't been able to justify buying), and then some coordinating prints and a solid . I am calling my mosaic Sunshine Road because I love all of the happy colors and words. I am trying to focus more on the positive things in life and this group of fabrics feels very positive to me :)
