Firetruck Quilt Tutorial
Since a few people asked, I put together a little tutorial on making the Firetruck Quilt that I made for my son. This quilt is very beginner friendly since it is just made using squares.

This is a great quilt for scraps. In fact, the more variety you have in your prints, the better. My quilt ended up 50" x 60" and is made up of 2.5" squares (2" finished). If you wanted to make the quilt smaller, you could use smaller squares, and if you wanted to make the quilt bigger you could use bigger squares. Cutting the squares 2" (1.5" finished) would give you a 37.5" x 45" quilt and cutting the squares 3" (2.5" finished) would give you a 62.5" x 75" quilt.
In order to keep track of everything when piecing together this many little squares, I like to break them down into blocks.
And this is how I pieced each of the blocks. While I guess you could strip piece the squares, it would affect the random feeling of the fabrics so I wouldn't recommend it for this particular quilt. Click here to keep reading
Here are closeups of each block along with the number of each color square in each one.
Block One: 1 yellow, 3 red, 14 white, 18 blue, and 44 gray
Block Two: 40 gray, 27 red, and 13 white
Block Three: 48 gray, 23 red, and 9 white
Block Four: 15 gray, 3 dark gray, 1 yellow, 24 blue, 24 white, and 13 red
Block Five: 47 red and 33 white
Block Six: 16 gray, 25 white, 1 yellow, 3 dark gray, and 35 red
Block Seven: 1 yellow, 5 white, 3 red, 9 dark gray, 43 gray, and 29 black
Block Eight: 9 red, 17 dark gray, 53 gray, and 11 black
Block Nine: 1 yellow, 5 white, 3 red, 10 dark gray, 24 black, and 47 gray
I hope that is helpful to anyone who is interested in making the quilt! If you have any questions, ask them in the comments and I will do my best to answer them.
