You might have noticed that things have been a little quiet around here. After having a miscarriage a few months ago I have had a difficult time believing that this is real . . .
Yes, congratulations! May is the perfect time of year! Not too cold and not too hot. My poor Mother had me in West Texas before air conditioning, when ladies were supposed to dress nicely, in August. I don't know how she ever forgave me, ha,ha! Of course, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. I know that is a separate sadness that takes its own time to heal. Thank goodness this life also gives us great joys. And I am looking forward to greeting your great bundle of joy in May! Beth Magistra13 at yahoo dot com
I am so happy for you and your family. Your daughter and son will be at a good age to be the big siste and big brother. I'll keep you all in my prayers.
Huge congratulations love! *hugs* that is so exciting. I can understand your hesitancy to believe it is real, but soak it all in! I gave birth to my son stillborn last April, I really relate to your pain. Enjoy each moment of the pregnancy and I can't wait to see the new bundle of joy!
Congratulations Erika! I can sympathize with the feelings following a miscarriage, having had 4 of them myself, along with 4 healthy babies as well. Your little ones are so cute, and all that hair on your daughter! Hope your pregnancy is non eventful and that you are gifted with a beautiful, healthy baby. May is a good month to give birth, as you have the entire summer to take your baby out and about, although I may be partial, given it's the month in which I were born. LOL lv2bquilting2@comcast.net
I am sorry for the loss of your baby. I know that grief well. And in the same breath "yay for babies!!!". We are due with baby #9 late March/early April. I'm 19 weeks now and *finally* feeling better! Congratulations!!!
Congratulations! I'm actually due in May as well! May 6 to be specific. Fun to think we'll be hitting similar milestones at the same time. :-) look forward to following along.
Rosemary B here: Erika, I am so happy for all of you. God Bless you. I know you will have a smooth and easy pregnancy. This baby is already loved.
I think many of us can relate to the miscarriage. I have had several too. It takes time to heal, and come to terms. I am an olden nurse, so I can just say, that it is never your fault or something you did. God makes our bodies strong. It just happens.
Last week I got an email asking if I was interested in the Flower Favorites Blog Hop. Yes! I chose to work with Palm Springs which is a fun, spring-y collection with some adorable tulips. The tutorial is available on the at the Bernatex blog here . And keep an eye out for more tutorials over the next week as the blog hop continues. But until then, how about a giveaway? Bernatex has kindly offered up a fat quarter bundle of the Palm Springs collection to one lucky winner. photo from Missouri Star Quilt Co. For a chance to win a fat quarter bundle of Palm Springs, follow the Benartex blog (either by email or a blog reader) and leave a comment here saying that you're a follower. For a second entry, "like" Benartex on Facebook and leave a comment saying that you do. The giveaway will be open until May 6th. A few weeks ago RJR Fabrics contacted me to see if I was interested with working on a project using their solids. I checked out their colors and was pretty smitten so I said yes. And they exceeded my expectations. I mixed them in with some of the prints from Rashida Coleman Hale's new Mochi collection . Since Cotton + Steel is actually a division of RJR fabrics, the RJR solids coordinate perfectly with the collections. The RJR Cotton Supreme Solids have a great selection of pinks (I think good pinks are the hardest to find) and my favorite is actually the neutral-y brown Driftwood color that I used for the binding. It might not be cool to love brown, but I do, and Driftwood (color 297) will be filling a void in my stash. The quilt looks more complicated than it actually is: each of the diamonds is made up of 2 triangles (so there are no y-seams) and I cut the fabric with my favorite triangle ruler . I didn't want the quiltin...
Hello and welcome if this is your first time visiting! My name is Erica and for the past year or so I have documented my quilting and sewing projects here ont this blog. I have been sewing for almost three years now and it has become quite the obsession! These are some of my favorite projects since I started my blog last year: What is the giveaway? When I was considering what to giveaway today, I wanted to choose something that I loved and something from a shop that I love. I decided to purchase a fat quarter bundle of Martha Negley's feathers from Westwood Acres . I just love the colors in these prints, they are gorgeous. How to enter: Just leave me a comment letting me know what kind of quilt or sewing project you really want to make in the future. Is there a particular pattern or technique you want to try? I am looking forward to starting a Marcelle Medallion , I just need to finish up some other projects first. The details: The giveaway wil...
